Each MOKULOCK brick is hand made in Japan and is simply carved out from a solid piece of wood.
A range of beautiful Japanese woods are used. So your pack contains a fascinating variety of colour, texture and  grain found unique to each type of wood.
No surface finishing oil, chemical, paint, or glue is used.
Mokulock is made of pure wood with many known benefits, being warm to the touch, with a comforting aroma, and a naturally beautiful colour and texture.

“さくら” [Japanese Cherry] The layers of different colors of each annual ring create the vivid cherry pink color. The surface feels mild; its scent has been used to evoke spring in people’s diet for hundreds of years.

“かば” [Birch] The bright color expresses the nostalgia of trees in people’s lives, evoking a feeling of calmness. This wood fits comfortably in hands as if it had been used for years; its scent is softly encompassing as one feels in the forest.

“けやき” [Japanese Zelkova] Gorgeous grains stand out on golden color are cherished and given names as “Gem”, “Grape”, “Peony”, or “Bubble” to best describe its character. The surface feels cool; its scent is rich and sweet like an incense.

“かえで”  [Maple] The weave of grain and vivid bright color gives comfort to one’s eyes. The surface of this wood is smooth and shiny; its scent is refreshing

“しで” [Hornbeam] Hornbeam displays different faces from different angles, expressing wonders and pleasures in its grain as if it is a uniquely evolved animal. This wood is sleek contrary to its appearance; refreshing scent.

“ほお” [Japanese Bigleaf Magnolia] The differing colors of heartwood and sapwood, dark green (heartwood) and calm white (sapwood) portray softness. The surface of this wood is soft; its scent is calm just like its color
